10″ Black Ash Burl

Posted on February 25, 2007December 10, 2019

10” Black Ash Burl with a hint of a trailing point. The blade is 5 1/2” long, tip to bolster. OAL is 10” and it’s 0.20” thick. The steel is CPM154CM. I heat cryo treated it to 59RC. It’s mirror-finished all over. The bolsters are concave at the rear and have finger relief sculpting on both sides. I purchased 100lbs of Black Ash Burl that had been curing for 2 years. I cut it into blocks and ended up with 35lbs of amazing burl wood that WSSI stabilized. I just grabbed this block off the top of the pile. The clip pouch sheath is splatter dyed with 3 different color dyes to somewhat match the wood. One rear pin is all that is needed since the front is locked in place with the concave bolster. This one is SOLD.
